You all know what happened in Japan and of course I'm also following the latest news as good as possible. It's not just that my studies are revolving around Japan and I've spent 6 months there. Even more important is that I've friends in Japan right now, there are also fellow students from my university, colleagues from our partner universities and their families and we're all quite worried about them.
As far as I know my friends and the students are fine for now. Also, my university's teachers are all in Germany. I heard my professor left Japan about 2 hours before the big earthquake. Of course they are now worried sick about their students and try to make sure everyone is allright. Together with the heads of the university they decided that it would be best if everyone comes home and students who would've started their year/semester abroad this month shall stay here.
All in all it's a quite tense situation here. At the moment we can just hope the catastrophe won't get any worse.
