Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you  finally  made  the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq  to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean  more quality to the paintings, am i right?. 
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only  to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

...and all I got was this lousy a fantastic Guild Wars 2 t-shirt! And a Guild Wars 2 artbook signed by Mr. Daniel Dociu (hunted down by a friend of mine, thanks buddy!). And another fancy autograph. And some nice cards with GW2 concept art. :la:

I also got to play the first public demo of Guild Wars 2 and it was fantastic!

This is shaping up to be Scenery Porn: The Game. I kid you not. They are trying to incorporate a bit more of the concept arts and it looks great! You had some loading screens with artworks in the original Guild Wars - they keep that and added a lot of other elements that have this painterly feeling. I love it!

The gameplay itself was also quite smooth - especially for its alpha status. I want this game!! :eager:

Ooh you must've had so much fun, you lucky thing! I've always wanted to go to a convention :la:

I haven't played GW yet because it's only for PC (duurrr..), but I'd sure love to someday, maybe when I can get myself a Windows on my computer...if it handles it :s

Awesome. I'm so envious of you. I love all the gameplay of GW2 I saw in the internet and I can't wait to play the game, plus you have a t-shirt and met Daniel Dociu, simply amazing.

The gameplay was fantastic! They threw you right into the action and although the controls were a bit different you got the hang of it quite easily.

Sadly I didn't met Daniel Dociu in person - as said my friend picked it up for me the day before. But his autograph in the book says "for Sabrina" which makes me super happy. :la:

Too bad I couldn't make it to the Gamescom this year, but hopefully I'll be there next year and get an autograph of some awesome artists :excited:

How's the artbook anyway? Is it worth ordering it in the internet?
