Artist's Comments

Another gift-art for *rufftoon - her character Nauja from the Water Tribe comic. A semi-realistic portrait heavily inspired and referenced from that famous "Eskimo Woman" photograph that just looks totally like Nauja. :3

It's also a tribute to the Inuit influences in Avatar - The last Airbender, cause - face it - we won't see much of this in the live action movie. :C


Note: "Eskimo Woman" is just the original title of the photograph. Not meant to be offensive or anything like that...

You captured her Inuit facial features spot on, it looks just like good ol'Nauja. And yowsa, that photograph = Nauja! Amazing! I also really like how you shaded it, it's quite dynamic and works well. And that fur o_o Veeeery pretty!

She kind of reminds me of the Native American image on the U.S. Sacagawea coin.
