Caution: Swear words ahead!


I just came home from University. Today I had my last presentation for this semester and omg I'm so fucking pissed right now!

You have to know that in Art History classes there are a lot of pensioners who think it is a great idea to study once more after they retired. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against elderly people and most are pretty nice. But certain students at my University are just freaking annoying!

Everytime I have to make a presentation for a seminar there are always a few old people who are interrupting me with "Speak louder!" or "Not so fast!" - usually the ones who sit in the back or next to the loud projector some shit like that.
And it's not even the worst thing. I know I speak a bit fast sometimes and I cannot speak that loud cause my voice get all rough and hoarse. I know I'm not perfect. Yet, I still do my best.

But what's driving me nuts is the impolite way in which they're interrupting. Today that one old lady was downright indignant at me as if I had insulted her. Oh how dare I not scream my words slowly! GET A FRIKKIN' DEAF-AID WHEN YOU CANNOT HEAR! D: (Everybody else could understand me perfectly fine though the acoustic in that room was really shitty). I've seen so many rude old people it's terrible. AT LEAST MY MOM TAUGHT ME SOME MANNERS!

The other things that's bugging me it the incompetence in that seminar. It's supposed to be about correlation between Japanese and European art - especially the influence of Japanese art on Art Nouveau. Yet the docent seems to believe in the superiority of European artists and that they just came up with all the different styles all by themselves and that Japanese arts just happened to be there but did not have any impact at all. INSPIRATION DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY! If a painter lives all his life in a small room with white walls he does not come up with something like THIS all of a sudden! Everything you see, read or hear as an artist has an impact on your artworks. No artist lives in a vacuum. And when you think that it has no impact on an artist's style WHEN HE COLLECTS HUNDREDS OF JAPANESE WOODPRINTS BECAUSE HE LOVES THEM SO MUCH then you shouldn't work at a museum, DAMMIT! >:[
